Our Goals
The overall goal of KeLC is to provide a coordinating mechanism through which various synergies will be built to further develop and implement e-Learning in the public sector.
More specifically KeLC will endeavour to facilitate:

  • The development, review, evaluation and sharing of e-Learning materials
  • ICT integration in capacity building activities among stakeholder institutions
  • Local, regional and international collaboration in e-Learning including the exchange of expertise and good practices.

Upcoming Events

Jan/Feb 2009

  • 26/01/09 to 30/01/09 : Facilitators Workshop
    Facilitators scheduled to take the participants through the course content for the upcoming workshops convene to plan the training workshops.
  • 2/02/09 to 13/02/09 : eLDI and eLIP Concluding Workshops
    Participants enrolled in the 2008 eLearning Development and Implementation Course (eLDI) and eLearning In Practice course (eLIP) will graduate after going through the final face-to-face workshop.

Mar/May 2009

  • March 2009 : eLIP Course
    Participants will be initiated into the eLearning in Practice (eLIP)-course(2009) and taken through the initial face-to face workshop that will take place in Kenya.
  • April to May 2009 : Production Workshop
    The eLDI and eLIP alumni will be taken through a production workshop meant to support them in the actualization of their previously conceptualized courses. This will take place in Namibia and is one of the alumni support workshops meant to follow up on eLDI and eLIP participants.

Texture

eLearning Development and Implementation (eLDI) is a blended learning Program for Education Specialists and Training Experts from Africa and Asia through regional Workshops. It is an 8 month program consisting of a week-long start-up-workshop a seven months long online training phase with in-depth tutorial support and a final workshop for another week. Target group: educational administrators, practitioners, experts from training organisations in these regions.

eLearning in Practice (eLIP) is also a blended learning program that runs for three months and equips the participants with knowledge on e-content authoring
 



Several pre-selection sessions for potential ICDL (Internatonal Computer Driving Licence) trainers have been held by the kenya eLearning Centre (KeLC), this happend as KeLC enters into a contract with ICDL to provide training in Kenya. ICDL offers certification for common desktop applications ensuring quality as far as competency in desktop applications is concerned.
